Life in Thompson Orchard
Originally part of one of the region's historic orchard properties, the neighbourhood has evolved into a collection of beautifully maintained homes where timeless character meets thoughtful modern living.
The history of Thompson Orchard goes all the way back to the 1800’s. Alexander Thompson was granted 200 acres of land (which became Sunnylea) for his service to the British during the American Revolution. It covered the area between Islington Avenue and Royal York Road, stretched from Bloor Street to Leland Avenue. A farm he called Rose Bank was found on the north side of his land, and was known for its apple, cherry and plum orchards. Thompson’s house stood on the south side of the property, which is present-day Thompson Avenue
Residents are drawn to Thompson Orchard for its peaceful residential atmosphere while enjoying exceptional convenience. Just minutes from Bloor Street, local cafés, boutique retailers, parks, golf courses, and some of Etobicoke's most highly regarded schools, the neighbourhood offers an exceptional lifestyle for families, professionals, and downsizers alike. Easy access to Bloor Street, the Royal York subway station, major highways, and Pearson International Airport makes commuting throughout Toronto remarkably convenient.
Life in Thompson Orchard is defined by its welcoming community spirit. Children can often be found walking to nearby schools, neighbours gather at local parks and community events, and generations of families have chosen to make this neighbourhood their long-term home. The mature canopy, quiet streets, and pride of ownership create an atmosphere that feels both established and inviting.
